Jazz at the Memo presents Mike Wade plays “Straight-Ahead”
A concert program focusing on the style of jazz that emerged from such pioneers as The Marsalis Brothers, The Harper Brothers, Kenny Garrett, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Kenny Kirkland, Stephen Scott and Robert Hurst, among others. Taking flight in the 80s, “Straight-Ahead” was highly recognized for its “in your face” style and sound, influenced heavily by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers’ way of playing music.
Featuring Mike Wade (trumpet), Keigo Hirakawa (piano), Reggie Jackson (drums) and Mike Sharfe (upright acoustic bass)
