American Legion Centennial Celebration
The local posts of the American Legion want to call to the attention of the Cincinnati area the record of achievements that have been accomplished by The American Legion during the 100 years since its founding, to emphasize the impact the organization has had upon the American society, and the extent of its contributions to the national security and the welfare of military veterans, their families and our community.
This exciting onetime event will include guest speaker Congressman Brad Wenstrup. He is a U.S. Army Reserve officer, a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and has served as a U.S. Representative for Ohio’s 2nd congressional district since 2013.
Featured entertainer is Bob Hope impersonator Bill Johnson bringing to life the comedy of the real Bob Hope, who entertained America’s military troops–both overseas and home–during war and peace time for nearly 60 years.
Special patriotic and uplifting music will be performed by our own Cincinnati Brass Band. In their 27th season the CBB’s 35 brass and percussion musicians have entertained audiences around the tristate area and beyond.
We will honor our men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military with a Memorial Day observance and a POW/MIA remembrance will be presented. You will see a colorful display of American Legion flags as well as other memorabilia.
A free punch and cookie reception will follow this event.
This American Legion Centennial Celebration is free and open to the public. All tickets are general admission and are REQUIRED for admission. We expect the event to be ‘sold out’ so request your tickets early! There is no guarantee that there will be tickets available at the door.
